WB FITNESS PRODUCT REVIEW: JeFit Fitness Tracker

We continue our series on reviewing different fitness related products today with one I truly enjoy.  Remember, we don’t get any money from any of these products we review, so its an honest opinion on things we all have been using on this fitness journey.  Today we review the JeFit Fitnees Tracking App.

Keeping Track

Some guys, even ones on Team WB Fitness prefer a pencil and notebook to track their progress.   The analog method is solid and works great, but being the team’s resident tech nerd, I prefer to go the tech route.  I’ve used a number of different fitness apps over the years but kept coming back to JeFit.  The sheer number of features and integration it has is second to none.  I wont go over everything the app can do, but here are a few of my favorite features.

Body Profile:  You can upload progress pics, record your measurements/data, set your goals with reminders.

Integration: It syncs up with many other popular trackers like MyFitnessPal, smartwatches/step counters, and many more services.  It is also accessible on your phone and computer.  I love the fact that you can enter your cardio and calories burnt and it automatically adds it to your calorie goals in MyFitnessPal.

Routines: This is my favorite part of the app.  It has built in routines, and the free version lets you access most of them, but where this app shines is with the custom routine builder.  You can set what days and what order you workout each muscle group, then you can drill down into that day, and  add which any number of workouts you want, set your set/rep ranges, even how much time between sets.  You can even link two or more workouts for super/giant sets (which is very useful around here.)  Another useful feature is that it has gifs of the lifts being preformed as well as a description of how to do the movement in case your form is off, by just tapping a picture.  Finally, you can use the app to set a timer between sets and when you’re done, it gives you metrics on how much weight lifted, how much time you spent dicking around on your phone between sets and many other bits of data relevant to your workout.

I’ve been adding WB’s programs to Jefit for a while now, and now I’ll be able to not only track my progress on the program, but I recently found out I can also share the program, the way WB wrote it, with all of you as long as you have the app, which I gladly will once we’re in full season.

Add your own workouts

Cost: The free version is the shit IMO.  I looked into the very pricy pro version ($35.00/year) and its just not worth it to me because I already get the routines from WB, and the pro version just has access to the premade ones.  Not only that, but users have also recreated famous workout routines (German Volume Training, 5/3/1, nsuns etc) for you to access free of charge.

Conclusion

I love this app and consider it as much a part of my workout as my headphones or suppliments.  Give it a try.  There’s a free version for both iPhone and Android phones.  You can also create an account and track it all on your computer if you want.  Let me know what you think if you try it out.
