Do You Have What You Need

Gentleman, I am very happy to announce that we are one week from go time for Team WB Fitness Season V: 73024752

One week….we have waded through a bunch of bullshit to get here and likely will have to wade through some more. I am ready, are you? The rest of this week posts will be able mental, physical and form readiness–but today I want to make a quick list to make you you are ready for the season

  1. WB FITNESS PROGRAM: Do you have the WB Fitness Program? If not, just message me to get it. You can’t do the program without the program. Further, you will need to read through the entire program and ready yourself for it…there will be questions….if you don’t have any questions then you have missed some things. We are one week out….get on this. You will regret not doing it one day.
  2. GYM BAG: You need a gym bag. Even for you guys working out at home, get a small duffel. Have your shit in a go bag. For the rest of us who are going to the gym and hoping everything works out for the best here is a rough and ready list of what you need in your bag. You need your clothes. 2 sets if you break your workout into doubles. As always, I will be in Jed North gear. Trust me, exactly zero people have offered me any kind of corporate sponsorship…but if Jed North did I would jump on it. I really think they make excellent gym clothes. You will need shoes. I love Ryderwear D-Maks. Which sneakers you wear are up to you but do not use normal sneakers. There is a reason. Sneakers, whether running, cross training, basketball or whatever are made with cushion. This is not good for lifters as when your feet are planted you will sink into the cushioning when you lift weights. The slightest wrong move and I promise you you will not be happy. If you can’t get Ryderwear or Otomix lifting shoes or boots look into INOV-8 which are also great. If you don’t want to pony up for dough for actually flat footed, non cushioned lifters get yourself a pair of low top chucks, tods or just go barefoot. I also love Nike Romeleos but they are only useful in the lift and cannot be transferred to cardio so you will need two pairs of shoes on some days.
  3. Dopp Kit: Have a proper Dopp Kit with all your grooming essentials.
  4. Chalk bag or chalk hand paste….its cheap, its on amazon….have it in your bag
  5. Waterbottle. You need it. Get one.
  6. Headphones. I am using the UA Rock buds right now and really like them. Go cheap and replace often, go expensive and try not to lose them, but as much as I want to lift with no music I simply can’t and if you are like me you can’t either. If you can, good for you but toss some headphones in your bag anyway just in case.
  7. A lock for your locker. My locker at my gym has a combo on it and I don’t need a lock….but then sometimes one is broken and I do. Just put a lock in your bag and have it ready in case. Always better to have an not need than need and not have.
  8. Paper or Print Out Sheets and Pen. I can’t say this enough times…..but I am going to try to make it clear TRACK EVERY FUCKING THING! Track your lifts, track your weight, track your measurements…FUCK TRACK IT IF YOU PISS. TRACK TRACK TRACK. How are you going to know where to tweak things without a full picture. If you are going to do my program I want some fucking results from you and if you aren’t going to track I can’t help you with them.

Guys, it is almost time. We are going in and we are going to do this right. I want this week for you to enjoy the small amount of freedom because come Monday you are mine and I am going to work you to fucking death.

The last thing I will mention on your list of needs is also the most important…you need to bring the right mindset with you. We have softly sit back and allowed the world to go on without being too much of a bother for too long. It is time to channel that rage and anger, it is time to bring out the hostility.

Meekness if weakness. Both in and out of the gym I want you to start expressing your rage and anger. They are healthy emotions. I intend to make sure that the world around me knows to move the fuck out of the way when I come towards them and I suggest you do too.

Gentleman, it is time to allow the inner savage out. It is time to let the rage out. For too long too many people have told us that our natural instincts are something to be hidden or beaten down much to the detriment of our minds, our world and our very souls. It is time to stop thinking about being strong and time to start expressing that brute strength into the world.
