Tick….Tock…Tick….Tock…..TICK FUCKING TOCK. 6 Days.
Ok, so today I want to build a little on the diet while also talking about the “Raw” part of Raw Aggression.
Let me get this out of the way right off the bat….at least three times per week…at least three…I want you guys to eat something raw. Whether you are drinking eggs like Rocky, eating some sashimi or a good steak tartar, I want you guys to eat raw flesh at least 3 times a week. More than just eat it, I want you to focus with all your mind on each and every bite.
I am prepared to take this season seriously and incorporate it into my lifestyle at every possible level and I suggest you guys do the same. Treating this like a little diet and exercise program will not yield the kind of results that I know you guys want.
The same way as when your mind is locked in on your lifts, the lifts have a much larger impact if you keep your mind locked in on the focus and aggression of the program your body will follow.
The analogy I like to use here is that of driving a motorcycle. When you are driving a motorcycle you don’t actually steer. While driving you look at the other lane you are going to move in to and the very act of looking at where you want to go positions you such that the bike will follow and move to the other lane as well. The same goes with our program. If you keep your eyes focused intensely on where you want to go, your body will follow.
So eat some raw flesh this year and remember why: because you are a savage animal.
If you want to go about making your own beef tartar, here is a recipe. I am giving the recipe for a small 5 ounce portion, but if you want to make a whole meal of it, just double everything and follow the instructions the same.
1/4 cup shallots, finely chopped
1 tsp capers, finely chopped
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1/4 tsp extra virgin olive oil
1/4 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1 egg yolk
5 ounces of quality lean beef (filet is #1 here never use previously chopped or ground meat)
1 pinch salt
Freeze The meat for 1 hour. Remove meat from freezer.
- Separate the egg white and yold. Set the whites aside and refrigerate for other use. Put yolk in a bowl.
- Finely chop the shallots and capers and add to a bowl. Add the mustard, olive oil and Worcestershire sauce. Mix well with a fork.
- Using a knife, chop the beef into small pieces until you get your desired consistency and then add to the bowl with the other ingredients. Season with salt and pepper to taste
- Form the mixture into flattened mounts and place in one mound on a serving plate.
- Top with the egg yolk
